Vacuum M o to r
Removal
1. R em ove air cleaner.
2. D isconnect vacuum hose fro m m otor.
3. D rill out the two spot w elds initially w ith a 1 /6 "

hole, th en en larg e as re q u ired to rem ove the retain in g
strap . D o not d am ag e the snorkel tube.
4. Rem ove m otor retain in g strap.
5. Lift up m otor, cocking it to one side to unhook
the m otor linkage at the control d a m p e r assem bly.
Installation
1. D rill a 7 /6 4 " hole in snorkel tube at center o f
vacuum m otor re ta in in g strap (Fig. 6E-35).
2. Insert vacuum m otor linkage into control
d a m p e r assem bly.
3. Use the m otor retain in g strap and sheet m etal
screw provided in the m o to r service package to secure
the retain in g strap an d m otor to the snorkel tube.
4. M ake sure the screw does not in terfere w ith the
o p era tio n o f the d a m p e r assem bly. S horten screw if
required.
5. C onnect vacuum hose to m otor and install air
cleaner.
Sensor
Removal
1. R em ove air cleaner.
2. D etach hoses at sensor.
3. Pry up tabs on sensor re ta in in g clip (Fig. 6E-
36); rem ove clip an d sensor fro m air cleaner. N ote
position o f sensor fo r installation.
Installation
1. Install sensor and gasket assem bly in original
position.
2. Press re ta in e r clip on hose connectors.
3. C onnect vacuum hoses an d install a ir cleaner on
engine.
