F ig . 121 - Door Adjustment Points
c. After adjustment has been made, tighten hinge cap
screws firmly. Open and close door to check op
eration. Readjust if necessary.
NOTE:
It may be necessary to reposition door
striker plate on lock pillar after making above
adjustment.
Door Lock Striker Plate
Raised beads on the back of the striker plate and ser-
ations on both the front and back of the striker plate
spacers, coupled with movable anchor plates in the pillar,
allow for "in and out" or "up and down" adjustment for a
close fit of the door on the lock side.
The striker plate spacers must be assembled so the
vertical serrations on the spacer are toward the lock
pillar (fig. 123). Likewise, the horizontal serrations on
the lower spacer must be toward the front so they match
the horizontal slot in the striker plate.
Adjustment
1. Position striker on pill as low as possible (bottom of
lock rotor housing 27/32" below striker cam) and
still provide clearance between striker cam and lock
rotor leading edge.
NOTE:
Striker cam must not interfere with
leading edge of rotor as door is being closed.
