Security Gateway Module (SGM)
The Security Gateway Modules (SGMs) in the Chassis work together as a single, high performance
Security Gateway or VSX Gateway. Adding a Security Gateway Module improves system
performance. A Security Gateway Module can be added or removed without losing connections. If
an SGM is removed or fails, traffic is sent to the other active SGMs.
These SGM versions are available:
•
SGM220
•
SGM220T (for NEBS)
•
SGM260
The SGM260 has more powerful CPUs and uses a more advanced technology. It also has a
different front panel layout and different LEDs.
