PHOTOGRAPHIC TRIPOD - #93606

The Celestron Photographic Tripod is a stable platform for a camera, spotting scope, video camera, or pair of
binoculars (with the appropriate adapter).  The tripod legs are made of heavy-duty tubular aluminum which eliminates
unwanted flexure and increases rigidity.  And, the 3-way pan head makes vertical and horizontal panning smooth.  Use
the diagram below to familiarize yourself with the various parts of the tripod for assembly and use.

Assembling Your Tripod

The Celestron photographic tripod comes fully assembled. To set-up your tripod, begin by removing the
tripod along with the pan handle from the box and its soft case. Loosen the Central Column Tension
Adjustment by turning it counterclockwise.  Pull the legs away from the center column so that the tripod will
stand by itself.  Tighten the tension adjustment.   To fold the legs back into the center, reverse the process.

Tripod Mounting

To attach an instrument to the tripod, remove the quick-release platform from the tripod. To do this, pull back
the quick release lock lever, slide the platform towards the lock lever and lift it out of the tripod head.

Now, place the tripod adapter block of the instrument over the 1/4x20 screw on the quick-release platform.
Keep in mind that the platform is not on the tripod at this time.  Tighten the screw (located on the under side
of the platform) until tight.  Just in front of the 1/4x20 screw is a small peg used to secure an instrument to
the tripod.  If the instrument you are mounting does not have a hole for this peg, it will push down into the
tripod head.

To place the quick-release platform with the instrument back on the tripod head, pull the platform lock lever
back.  Slide the front of the platform in first, then pivot the back in.  Once in place, push the platform lock
lever until it touches the under side of the tripod head.  This will hold the platform in place.
