4.3 Working and danger areas
This section contains information on the working and danger areas of the machine. These ar-
eas apply while the machine is operating. If the machine is switched off and secured against
accidental switch-on, the danger area may also be entered during maintenance work.

The danger areas must be obstacle-free. During
operation these areas must not be reached into or
entered. If the machine is switched off and secured
against accidental switch-on, the areas may be
reached into and entered during maintenance work.

Working area
The machine operator's workplace is in the working
area. The operator operates the machine in this area.
The operator may not leave this area during cutting.
4.4 Operating description
The CF • 1020 D Joint Cutter is a walk-behind, hand-guided machine. The joint cutter is used
for wet cutting in asphalt and concrete, as well as in similar abrasive construction materials.
The CF • 1020 D joint cutter can use diamond saw blades up to 500 mm with a maximum
diamond saw-blade clamping width of 20 mm (on left and right). The diamond saw blades
are driven by a 7.3 kW diesel engine via a drive belt. The maximum cutting depth of 200 mm
is steplessly adjustable. The flushing water supply is provided via pressurised water or a sepa-
rate tank.
4.5 Operating modes
The machine is only operated in the manual mode. To operate, an operator is required for
monitoring and for intervening in the cutting process.
