Snapshot Tutorial
• When “
‡
Auto WB” is selected for the white balance setting, the camera
automatically determines the white point of the subject. Certain subject colors
and light source conditions can cause problems when the camera tries to
determine the white point, which makes proper white balance adjustment
impossible. If this happens, select the white balance setting that matches your
shooting conditions (Daylight, Overcast, etc.).
You can manually adjust an image’s exposure value (EV value) before shooting it.
• Exposure Compensation Range: –2.0 EV to +2.0 EV
• Unit: 1/3EV
1.
In the REC mode, press [SET].
2.
Use [
8
] and [
2
] to select the fifth control panel option from the top (EV
Shift).
3.
Use [
4
] and [
6
] to adjust the exposure compensation value.
To cancel exposure compensation, change
the EV value to 0.0.
4.
Press [SET].
This applies the exposure compensation value. The exposure compensation
value you set remains in effect until you change it or turn off the camera (which
causes it to revert to “0.0”).
NOTE
• When shooting under very dark or very bright conditions, you may not be able to
obtain satisfactory results even after performing exposure compensation.
• EV shift is disabled while the “High Speed Lighting” BEST SHOT scene is being
use.
Correcting Image Brightness (EV Shift)
[
6
]: Increases the EV value. A higher EV
value is best for light-colored subjects
and backlit subjects.
[
4
]: Decreases the EV value. A lower EV
value is best for dark-color subjects and
for shooting outdoors on a clear day.
