4 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Radiators and oil coolers dust removal
The machine is equipped with a hydraulic fan drive system. The hydraulic fan drive system allows to reverse the fan
rotation in order to blow away dust and debris from the radiators and the oil cooler.
The fan reversing is a special operating function, and cannot be activated during normal machine operation. To acti-
vate the fan reversing function, stop the normal machine operation, and follow the reference procedure described in
this Section.
NOTICE:
All the operating controls of the machine are locked as the fan reversing function is activated.
The radiators and the oil cooler should be blown on a daily basis. The recommended operating practice is to carry out
a blowing operation at the middle of the working day. If the machine is working in a heavily dusty or sandy environment,
repeat the blowing operation more frequently during the working day, at least every two hours.
The reference procedure for blowing operation is described below. The blowing sequence should take
8 – 10 min
.
NOTICE:
Do not operate the fan in reverse mode for more than
45 min
. Fan reversing is mainly intended for cleaning,
and does not grant the best cooling performance.
NOTICE:
The regular application of the blowing procedure does not replace the cleaning procedures for radiators and
oil cooler outlined in Chapter 6 as part of the maintenance program of the machine.
1. Park the machine on a hard, flat, and wide open area.
2. Lower the attachment to the ground, and set the gate
lock lever to central position.
3. Turn the engine speed throttle to low idle position. Wait
for the green cooling down icon to appear. Refer to
