At warning message display
Engine air filters
Clean or replace the engine air filter whenever the warning lamp remains illuminated while the engine is running.
1. Clean the area around the outside front cover of the
air filter housing.
2. Inspect the air filter housing and components for
damage.
3. Release three clips that secure the air filter housing
cover in place.

4. Remove and inspect the primary filter.
A. If damage is noticed on the sides or edges of
the filter, replace the filter. If okay continue.
B. Examine the inside of the filter. If the filter has
dust and debris on the inside, replace the filter.
If clean continue.
C. Lightly tap the ends of the filter against the palm
of your hand. Never against a hard surface.
D. Shine a light inside the filter, if you see light
spots or deteriorated areas, replace the filter.
If no damage is apparent continue.
NOTICE: It is okay to clean the primary filter three or four
times but it needs to be replaced if damage to the filter is
apparent.
