Preface
The Mayze 24 is available in two versions:
Mayze 24 Standalone modem.
Mayze 24R Rackmount modem for use in the Network
16 Rack System.
This manual provides full information for installing,
configuring and using the Mayze 24 and Mayze 24R
modems as supplied for use in the United Kingdom.
PART 1 of the manual has been laid out in a sequence that
will allow you rapidly to become familiar with the essential
features of the modem and to get it operational for
straightforward use on the PSTN.
PART 2 takes you step-by-step through the many features
of the modem that allow it to carry out complex tasks in a
variety of environments.
Throughout this manual the Mayze 24 and Mayze 24R are
described as 'the modem' where features are common to
both. Where necessary they are differentiated by
'standalone' or 'rackmount' respectively.
The Network 16 Rack System which houses the rackmount
version is referred to as 'the rack system', and the Network
16 Controller Card is referred to as 'the controller card'.
Both these items are described in separate manuals.
