DHCP
— If there is a DHCP server on the network, and if you have a single Carrier® ChillerVu™ or multiple
Carrier® ChillerVu™s that exist on the SAME subnet, use DHCP addressing. Skip to the section
To obtain an
IP address using DHCP
(page 11).
•
Custom IP addressing
— If you have multiple Carrier® ChillerVu™s that reside on different subnets, you
cannot use DHCP addressing. Instead, give each Carrier® ChillerVu™ an assigned IP address. Skip to the
section
To assign a custom IP address
(page 11).
NOTE
This network configuration also requires that you configure IP Broadcast Management Devices
(BBMDs). See
To set up BACnet Broadcast Management Devices.
(page 41)
To use a default IP address
CAUTION
The IP address must be unique on the Ethernet.
1
If wired for power, turn off the controller's power.
2
The controller only reads the rotary switch positions during power up or upon reset.
3
Set the
IP Addr
DIP switch to
Assigned
(
On
).
4
Use the rotary switches to set the Carrier® ChillerVu™'s address. Set the
Tens
(
10's
) switch to the tens digit
of the address, and set the
Ones
(
1's
) switch to the ones digit.
EXAMPLE
If the controller’s address is 25, point the arrow on the
Tens
(
10's
) switch to 2 and the arrow on
the
Ones
(
1's
) switch to 5.

in the IP address.
EXAMPLE
If you turn on this DIP switch and the controller network MAC address is 25, the IP address is
192.168.168.125.
6
Connect Port E1, which is the only port that speaks BACnet over IP.
The default address is an intranet address. Data packets from this address are not routable to the Internet.
