INSTALLATION

Vertical Units (

48/50ZG,ZN,Z6,Z8

) —

Accessory hood/

damper assembly is installed on the return air end of the unit
below the end economizer hood.

1. Turn off unit power.
2. Remove and save the 2 long channel panels on each side

of the economizer hood. See Fig. 1.

NOTE: Save all screws for use later.

3. Remove 2 short channel panels located between the end

panels. Discard one channel panel, save other for use
later.

4. Remove and discard the 3 end panels below the end econ-

omizer hood.

screws removed earlier. See Fig. 2

.

6. Replace seal strip on 2 long and one short channel panels.

Be sure seal strip is centered between holes in panel. New
seal strip will help prevent any water leaks that may occur
if the original seal strip was damaged while disassem-
bling panels.

7. Apply a bead of RTV or similar sealant on the seams at

the top and bottom of the hood panels where the panels
meet. See Fig. 3.

8. Reinstall the 2 long and one short channel panels, using

screws removed earlier.

9. Apply RTV at the notch in each long channel panel to

guard against water leaks.

10. Restore power to unit.

Horizontal Units (50Z2,Z3,Z7,Z9) —

Remove hoods

and dampers from panels supplied with accessory and install
hood and damper assemblies on return ductwork. See Fig. 4
for hood dimensions.
