8 Troubleshooting guide
The following list provides a guide to basic faults or problems which may occur during day-to-day operation of the
Void Scanner Wi-Fi box, along with their possible causes and a recommended course of action to take.
It is strongly advised that, should any fault occur which is not listed, or if the recommended action does not rectify
the fault, you should contact your local Carlson service centre.
The ‘Int. Power Source’ button does not illuminate when pressed
Cause
Remedy

The internal battery is not charged. Plug the unit into the charger and
the charger into the mains. Use the
LED indicator on the charger to
determine the status of the battery.

The fuse for the internal battery
circuit has blown.
Check the fuse cartridge in the fuse
holder on the internal panel
labelled ‘Fuse (Int.)’. If necessary,
replace the fuse cartridge.

Do not use the unit with a Void
Scanner Mk1 or Mk2. These units
have different power consumption
requirements from Void Scanner
Mk3 onwards.
Electrical fault in the unit or in the
probe
