Pyxis MedStation 4000 System Console User Guide
Using virtual files edit to define
communication ports
Use the Virtual Files Edit feature to create the methods.cfg file for defining
communication ports.
Adding a virtual file
The following procedure explains how to add a configuration file.
1. Select
Utilities > Virtual Files Edit
.
2. In the Virtual Files dialog box, click
Add
.
3. In the Virtual File – Add dialog box, complete the following:
•
Machine Name
—Select a computer from the list.These are computers on
which the console and/or workstation are running.
•
File Name
—Enter the name of the file.
4. In the empty box, enter the communication information. In this environment,
enter
XT
.
5. Click
Save
.
6. When the confirmation message appears, click
OK
.
Editing a virtual file
The following procedure explains how to update the communication information
for an existing configuration file. (You cannot change the machine name; to
change the file name, you must use the Rename option. See
on page
.).
1. Select
Utilities > Virtual Files Edit
.
2. In the Virtual Files dialog box, select the file to update and click
Edit
.
CAUTION
Do not use Virtual Files Edit without the assistance of a CareFusion
representative.
