The sounds are picked up by the stethoscope and connected to the SimulScope by a cable. A bank of
infrared diodes (Figure 3) on the face of the SimulScope transmits the sounds as infrared energy to each
HeartMan Infrared Headphone.

A system of adjustable filters (Figure 4 & 5) built into the SimulScope allows the user/instructor
to accentuate or attenuate very narrow frequency ranges (i.e. faint A.I. murmur or fine crackles)
for emphasis.
