• The receiver
PIN
can be modified via the
CardinTX_SW
software.
• Telephone numbers may have only one entry in the address book and all duplicates will be ignored.
• The modem will ignore all incoming calls without a declared telephone number.
• When inactive the system will periodically check the status of the modem. The control cycle will be repeated
round about every 60 seconds
*
. After 24 hours of inactivity the modem will be restarted automatically.
• Should the
CAR
code become corrupt and you are not able to access the receiver through the
CardinTX_SW
software and you can try and reset it via
SMS
. If you are unsuccessful you will have to cancel the memory
content and reset the code by resetting the receiver parameters to the factory defaults.
• The
USB
connection requires a “
mini-B

SIM VODAFONE-CARDIN
The receiver can be purchased already configured for the installation and equipped with a VODAFONE M2M
SIM telephone card which only for data use with the CARDIN gateway service. This configuration requires the
receiver to connect to the gateway only through a VODAFONE SIM wake-up request.
The number of permitted wake-ups and the amount of data traffic available for the connections is limited to
a monthly amount.
MENU: SIGNAL
(only when the modem is ready)
When the
2G/3G
modem is ready [
G
] or [
3G
] will appear on the display and you can check the level and quality
of the available signal cover.
The information, updated every
500 ms
, is represented by two numbers: the first one shows the signal intensity
detected by the modem and the second number shows the signal quality. The intensity of the signal is directly
proportional to the number shown so the higher the number the greater the signal intensity detected.
The minimum value for modem operation is
11
. The quality of the signal is inversely proportionate to the number,
therefore '0' indicates the best quality and a higher number will indicate worse quality. Number
99
indicates
that the value cannot be determined.
To quit the function and return to the previous menu press
ESC
.
If the receiver is using the WF card it will be ready for use when [
WF
] appears on the display. The value shown
represents the signal intensity that the card is receiving. The maximum operating value is set to
-83dbm
, and
is to be considered indicative as signal quality depends on the ambient in which the device is located. As the
value gets higher the operating conditions will improve.
Certain operators require the data connection to be activated using a protocol which is different to the standard
expected by the receiver.
This condition which will be confirmed by the receiver showing the indication [
REQ
] for one to two minutes on
the display before closing the call.
A different protocol can be set as follows:
• Enter function “
A) SIGNAL
” where the signal status for the telephone network is shown.
• Press and hold down
ENT
, for at least 4 seconds.
• On the area of the display normally occupied by the numbers the indication of the modality chosen for the
connection will be accompanied by a beep. The indication “
SWAP0
” means standard protocol will be used
while “
SWAP1
” indicates an alternative protocol.
• Switch the receiver off and on to make the new setting active.
MENU: CONNECTION
This setting establishes which numbers are to be enabled for the data connection. The default setting is ANYBODY
which allows all numbers to access the connection even if they haven't already been associated with a channel.
If you set the value to 'ADDRESS BOOK' only numbers that are present in the address book, shown by 'REMOTE'
in the name field, will be accepted. This filter will limit access to a limited number of specific callers.
