Product shelf life after connection
The product shelf life after connection depends on a couple of circumstances that are independent from
the dispenser. Such as:
•
Shelf life of product before connection
•
Connection spout system (hygienic concept / design)
•
Ambient or cooled environment before and after connection
•
Tapping frequency
•
Cleaning frequency and detergent used at cleaning procedure
Coffee from Bag-In-Box
In our experience a shelf life of 1 week (after
connection) with a flash-pasteurized, aseptically
packed cold-brew coffee in bag-in-box with an
appropriate valve system, at ambient storage can be
achieved with a minimum tapping frequency of 1.0 l
every day. In such a scenario, we recommend a
weekly chemical cleaning without any intermediate
rinsing.
Coffee from a container
If the coffee is prepared on site and placed in a vessel
with air contact, standing at ambient temperature
–
it
should not be connected and used for more than two
days. In this scenario we recommend to flush the
system with water every second day and provide a
weekly chemical cleaning.
The shelf life can be extended by 1 or 2 days, if the
container (canister) is placed in a small fridge as
shown on the picture.
The product shelf life and the product quality are in the responsibility of the operator. Carbotek can just
provide general recommendation at this stage.
