Recording Audio
The camcorder features 4-channel linear PCM or 2-channel AAC audio recording and playback for
MP4 clips, and 4-channe linear PCM for XF-AVC clips. The sampling frequency is 48 kHz.
You can record audio using the built-in stereo microphone, commercially available external
microphone (INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminals*, MIC terminal) or line input (INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminals*).
Using the INPUT 1/INPUT 2 terminals, you can select the audio input independently for channel 1
(CH1) and channel 2 (CH2).
The audio signal will be output along with the video signal from the SDI OUT terminal (
only) and
HDMI OUT terminal. You can record this audio signal on an external recorder.
* Available only when the handle unit is attached to the camcorder.
Selecting the Audio Recording Format for MP4 Clips
You can set the audio recording format to AAC (2 channels, 16 bit) or linear PCM (4 channels, 16 bit).
When the resolution is set to 1280x720, the audio format is set to AAC and cannot be changed.

Operating modes:

AAC 16bit 2CH]:
The clip is recorded using 2-channel AAC. This format is more versatile and allows
the clip to be played back on various devices.
[
LPCM 16bit 4CH]:
The clip is recorded using 4-channel linear PCM. This format is uncompressed
and offers higher audio quality.
