USB Mounter (Macintosh)* that allows the system to handle the camera as a card reader
*
The USB Mounter is a driver that makes the Mac OS recognize the camera as a card reader. When the
camera is connected to the Mac’s USB interface, images in the camera are displayed in the Mac’s Finder.
Those images can then be downloaded to the Mac in a manner similar to copying files.
*
This application runs under Mac OS 9.0 and higher.

* With a previous version which is bundled in EOS D30, it takes extra time to convert RAW images
because a process called “median filter” is excuted in order to reduce false coloer. With the new
version, the processing time is cut down dramatically and a new option that allows users to turn
the median filter On and Off is added.

RemoteCapture 2.0 for remote picture-taking through a PC (permits display of the Finder screen
on the PC)
When using RemoteCapture, it is possible to perform the following operations from
the PC:
- Release operation (single shots, interval shots, timer shots)
- Setting the zoom position (except for digital zoom)
- Checking various shooting parameters that are set in the cam-
era
- Setting the number of recording pixels/compression factor,
macro mode, the white balance, exposure compensation, etc.
- Setting whether or not to store images in the CF
In Version 2,0, the following operations are also possible:
- Checking the Finder screen on the PC
- Separating the shooting window from the stored image window
- Release using the shutter button on the camera*
*
Because the signal passes through the PC, there is a slight time-
lag between when the release ON signal is given and the actual
start of exposure.

RAW Image Converter 1.1 for processing RAW images
Previously, the RAW Image Converter was installed along with the USB TWAIN driver. Starting with “Canon
Digital Camera Solution Disk 6.0” (the version that will be bundled with the PowerShot G2), the RAW Image
Converter will now be handled as a separate item.
The following two changes have been made:
-The UI has been changed.
-False color neutralization can now be turned on/off.*
Table 2-7 outlines the processing of RAW images that were shot with earlier cameras.
