Technologies Explained
FINE Cartridges and Single Inks
Canon's patented FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) semi-
conductor manufacturing technique lies at the heart of its printer technology,
creating print heads with exceptionally high nozzle count & high density and
producing tiny ink droplets as small as 1pl or 2pl (picolitre). This enables Canon
PIXMA Inkjet printers to achieve fast print speeds and virtually grain-free, photolab
quality photo prints even in default Standard mode.
Depending on the model, PIXMA printers use either FINE Cartridge technology or
Canon’s Single Ink System. For those seeking maximum convenience, FINE
Cartridges combine inks and print head in a single handy unit, replaceable in
seconds. The FINE Cartridge system also offers exceptionally fast printing speeds.
The Single Ink system separates component colours into a maximum of 10
individual ink tanks; this allows users to individually replace colours as they run out,
minimising waste.

Canon offers a range of genuine photo papers, each offering exceptional quality at
an accessible price point. Alongside extensive Glossy, Semi-gloss and Matte
