1. Parts to replace
- Waste toner buffer (FM2-2053)
2. Before the replacement
1) Execute the following in Service Mode to discharge the waste toner (du-
ration:approximately 5 min.)
COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > WTNR-ALL
2) Pull out the process unit 100 mm or more.
(To disengage the process unit from the developing waste toner connect-
ing pipe and the drum waste toner connecting pipe.)
3) Pull out the intermediate transfer unit 100 mm or more.
(To disengage the toner exhaust pipe of the ITB cleaner unit from the
waste toner buffer unit.)
4) Pull out the feed assembly 100 mm or more.
(To disengage the to ner exhaust pipe of the secondar y transfer cleaner
unit from the waste buffer unit.)
5) Disconnect the Power Unit Station from the Main Station. Refer to "Chap-
ter 10 Disconnecting the External/Auxiliary Control System Power Unit
Station" in the Service Manual.
6) Detach the sub station rear cover 3 [1] & 4 [2].
- 3 screws [3] (Loosen them)
- 10 screws [4]
NOTE:
The color (Y/M/C/Bk) is engraved on the plate of the feed drive assembly.

CAUTION: Point to Note When Attaching
Check first that the bearing [1] is fitted into the hole, and then tighten the
screw. (The image : for yellow.)

CAUTION: Points to note when exhausting the waste toner
When exhausting the waste toner, be sure to place the waste toner container
in the waste toner storage.
