Title
Water drop marks on 2nd side of 2-sided print occurred in 2-sided printing after continuous 1-sided printing (3 WAY
UNIT-C1)
Symptom
When making 2-sided prints after performing continuous 1-sided printing while the 3 WAY UNIT-C1 is
installed, water drop marks may appear on the 2nd side of 2-sided prints.
Cause
Water drops on the Paper Feed Guide attached to the 2nd side of the paper when 1st side is fed.
Continuous 1-sided printing causes moisture in paper to evaporate in the Fixing Assembly, which leaves
water drops on the Paper Feed Guide of 3 WAY UNIT-C1. If 2-sided printing is performed afterwards, water
drops on the Paper Feed Guide attach to the 2nd side of the paper when 1st side is fed, and the water drops
appear as an image when 2nd side is transferred. This symptom occurs on the 2nd side of the first few
2-sided prints.
[Reference] This symptom is likely to occur under the following conditions.
- High temperature and high humidity environment
- Shelf paper (complete moist paper)
- After more than 30 pages of 1-sided prints are fed
