License Registration
You must register a license key to enable optional modes and functions, such as
the Send function, PDF (OCR) mode, Encrypted PDF mode, and the functions for
the optional iR Security Kit. Each optional mode and function requires their own
license key to be registered. There is no limit to the number of license keys that can
be registered in the machine.
IMPORTANT
Some optional modes and functions require optional equipment to be installed in addition
to obtaining and registering a license key. For more information, see "System Options,"
on p. 3-5, and "Available Combination of Options," on p. 3-7.
NOTE
•
A license key can be obtained via a Web browser to access the license management
system. Access the system by entering the following URL:
http://www.canon.com/lms/license/. For more information on obtaining a license key, see
the License Access Number Certificate and the License Registration Booklet, included
with the various optional kits.
•
The license key must be registered on the actual machine. You cannot register the
license key through the Remote UI.
•
You do not need to register a license key to use the Fax function.
