Drifting media

Introduction

Solve printing over the side edges of the media caused by the drifting of media. When media is
not rolled up evenly on the core or the media is not fed in the printer correctly, the media will drift
on the platen. When the media drifts, the printer can print over the side edges of the media and
on the printer platen. Follow the procedure below. You can stop at any time in the procedure
when the problem is solved.

Procedure

1.

Make sure the printer platen is clean. 

Clean the platen on page 197

.

2.

Load the media roll again and make sure the media has a straight cut leading edge feeding into
the machine. 

Load a media roll (position 1) on page 82
