Description
Since this machine hung up while displaying the message "Printing" after indicating the error code "E240-0002" for just a moment, the main controller PCB
(main) was replaced with a new one for solution.
- E240-0002 error code can be displayed when the main controller PCB cannot receive any response within 4 sec after it sends the image output request to
the DC controller PCB during printing.
Description
Upon installation, since the LCD touch panel did not respond although the power indicator on the control panel lighted up and the numeric keys responded
normally, the protection sheet covering the LCD was removed for solution.
Cause
Since the LCD touch panel got pressed with the protection sheet, it did not respond.
Field Remedy
As the causes of this symptom, the following are conceivable:
- Poor contact of the flexible cable of the LCD
- Poor contact of J1015A or J1015B connector of the main controller PCB
- A fault in the Control Panel CPU PCB, the LCD, or the main controller PCB.
However, before trying troubleshooting for these causes, perform the following:
1. Remove the protection sheet from the LCD, and then check to see if the touch panel responds normally.
2. Visually check if there is foreign matter between the LCD and the control panel cover; if any, remove it.
3. If the symptom still occurs, try the troubleshooting for the conceivable causes above.

Description
Since the error code "E244-0001" was indicated, the flexible cable of the DC Controller PCB was disconnected and then re-connected for solution.
- E244-0001 can be displayed when the flexible cable of the DC controller PCB has poor contact.
Field Remedy
When the symptom occurs, re-connect the flexible cable (J106 and J301) of the DC controller PCB.
Note: Take care not to insert the cable to the connector askew.

Description
Since the error code "E611-0001" was displayed every time the main power switch was turned OFF/ON to clear the error code "E315-000E" triggered by
FAX transmission from PC, system software was upgraded for solution.
- E315-000E can be displayed at software decoding.
- E611-0001 can be displayed for the purpose of preventing FAX transmission from being repeated when rebooting or power-off operation is repeated.
Cause
In MMR Decoding at FAX transmission from a PC, a decode error detected after valid lines of data is normally neglected; only in a FAX transmission
including both zooming and image rotation processes, however, this process was not executed, consequently making this machine detect the MMR decode
error "E315-000E." In addition to this, the repeated power-OFF/ON operation triggered E315-000E, ultimately letting this machine display E611-0001.
Field Remedy
1. When E611-0001 appears, first perform MN-CON Clear.
- Service Mode > COPIER > Function > CLEAR > MN-CON.
2. Check the version of system software; if SYSTEM, LANGUAGE, and RUI are earlier than Ver. 21.11 and Ver. 21.05, upgrade these pieces of software
to Ver. 21.11 and Ver. 21.05 or later.

Description
Since the error code "E351-0000" was displayed at start-up after power-on, the Main Controller PCB (SJ-A) was replaced with a new one for solution.
- E351-0000 can be displayed when the Main Controller PCB causes a communication error at start-up.
Field Remedy
1. Re-fit all the connectors on the Main Controller PCB.
2. If the symptom still occurs, re-fit the Main Controller PCB (SJ-A) on the Main Controller PCB.
3. If Step2 does not work on the symptom, replace the Main Controller PCB (SJ-A) with a new one.
Note: When re-fiting or replacing the PCBs, please refer to the attached information " E747/748: How to Modify Connection of the Sub PCBs to the Controller
Box".
