• When [Image S tabili z er] i s s et to [ Dynamic], if the bac k ground’ s
movement doe s not appear natural, s elect [ S tandard] or [ Off].
[Flicker Reduction]:
If the s creen s tart s to flic k er when recording movie s
under fluore s cent light s , change the s etting to reduce the effect.
• Flic k er reduction can be activated only when the recording program i s
s et to [ Programmed AE.]
[Auto Slow Shutter]: The camcorder automatically u s e s s low s hutter
s peed s to obtain brighter recording s in place s with in s ufficient lighting.
• Minimum s hutter s peed u s ed: 1/30; 1/12 when the frame rate i s s et to
[ PF24]; 1/15 when it i s s et to [ PF30].
• The auto s low s hutter can only be activated when the recording pro-
gram i s s et to [ Programmed AE], but the s etting will not change even
if you s et the camcorder to mode.
• If a trailing afterimage appear s , s et the s low s hutter to [ Off].
• If (camcorder s ha k e warning) appear s , we recommend s tabili z ing
the camcorder, for example, by mounting it on a tripod.
[Auto Backlight Correction]:
When s hooting s ubject s with a s trong light
s ource behind them, you can have the camcorder automatically correct
for the bac k light.
• In mode, auto bac k light correction will automatically be s et to
[ On].

[Focus Assistance]:
When the focu s a ss i s tance i s activated, the image at
the center of the s creen i s magnified to help you focu s manually ( 61).
• U s ing the focu s a ss i s tance will not affect the recording s . It will be can-
celled automatically after 4 s econd s or when you s tart recording.
