Trouble s hooting
Cannot play back Check the memory card
- There i s a problem with the S D card. S ave your recording s (

Cannot play back Initialize only using the camcorder
- The S D card in the camcorder wa s initialized u s ing a computer. Initialize the card with thi s camcorder (

34).
Cannot record on this memory card
- Clip s cannot be recorded on a 512 MB or s maller S D card. U s e a compatible S D card (
A
32).
Cannot trim the scene
- MP4 clip s that were recorded or copied u s ing other device s cannot be trimmed.
Charge the battery pack
- Battery pac k i s exhau s ted. Charge the battery pac k .
Check the memory card
- Cannot acce ss the S D card. Chec k the card and ma k e s ure it i s in s erted correctly.
- An S D card error occurred. The camcorder cannot record or di s play the image. Try removing and rein s erting the card,
or u s e a different S D card.
- You in s erted a MultiMedia Card (MMC) into the camcorder. U s e a compatible S D card (

32).

Initialize only using the camcorder
- Initialize the S D card with thi s camcorder (

May not be possible to record movies on this memory card
- You may not be able to record movie s on an S D card without a S peed Cla ss rating or with a rating lower than
recommended. To record MP4 clip s , replace the S D card with one rated S D S peed Cla ss 6 or 10, or UH S S peed Cla ss
U1 or U3. To record XF-AVC clip s , replace the S D card with one rated S D S peed Cla ss 10 or UH S S peed Cla ss U1 or
U3.
- To record 4K clip s with a re s olution of 3840x2160 and to u s e s low & fa s t motion recording, u s e S D card s rated UH S
S peed Cla ss U3.
Memory card cover is open
- After in s erting an S D card, clo s e the S D card compartment cover.
Memory card is full
- The S D card i s full. Delete s ome recording s (

113) to free s ome s pace or replace the card.
Memory card is write-protected
- The LOCK s witch on the S D card i s s et to prevent accidental era s ure. Change the po s ition of the LOCK s witch.
No clips
- There are no clip s on the S D card s elected.
No memory card
- In s ert a compatible S D card into the camcorder (
A
33).
No photos
- There are no photo s to play bac k .
Number of clips already at maximum
- The S D card s elected for recording already contain s the maximum number of XF-AVC clip s (999 clip s ). Replace the
card or u s e the card in the other S D card s lot.
- Cannot k eep recording in dual recording mode becau s e both card s reached the maximum number of XF-AVC clip s .
Operation canceled
- Clip s cannot be recorded becau s e the control data i s corrupted or an encoder error ha s occurred. (Control data
cannot be recovered with the camcorder.) Turn the camcorder off and the on again. Remove the S D card s and rein s ert
them, or replace them with new S D card s . If the problem per s i s t s , con s ult a Canon S ervice Center.
- Corrupted file control information cannot be recovered. Card s or XF-AVC clip s with corrupt file control information
cannot be read by Canon XF Utility.
Process terminated with error
- The S D card compartment cover wa s opened or an error occurred during the initialization of an S D card. Initialize the
card again. If the S D card s till cau s e s an error me ss age, try replacing the S D card.
