MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
NOTE:
A coolant system that fre-
quently
requires
coolant
indicates
leaks or engine problems. See an au-
thorized Can-Am roadster dealer.
Brakes
WARNING
New brakes will not operate at
their maximum efficiency until
their break-in is completed. Brak-
ing performance may be reduced,
so use extra caution. Brakes take
about 300 km (200 mi) of riding
with frequent braking to break-in.
For riding with infrequent braking,
allow extra time to break-in the
brakes.
Brake Fluid Level Verification
WARNING
Clean filler cap before removing.
Use only DOT 4 brake fluid from a
sealed container.
NOTICE
To avoid serious dam-
age to the braking system, use only
non-recommended
fluids.
Brake
fluid can damage plastic and painted
surface. Handle with care.
WARNING
Avoid getting brake fluid on skin
or in eyes — it may cause severe
burns. In case of contact with the
skin, wash thoroughly. In case of
contact with the eyes, immediately
rinse with plenty of water for at
least 10 minutes and then consult
a doctor immediately.
Check the brake fluid level as follows:
NOTICE
Clean filler cap before re-
moving. Use only DOT 4 brake fluid
from a sealed container.
1. Park the vehicle on a firm, level sur-
face.
2. Unlatch and lift the seat.
3. Check the brake fluid level in both
reservoirs, near the back of the seat.
They should both be above the MIN.
mark.
