Computer to CSAT3H heater controller communications
If using a computer or data acquisition system other than one from Campbell Scientific, then a
15-ft CSAT3HCBL2 cable will be used to communicate between the device acquiring data and the
CSAT3H heater controller enclosure.
CSAT3H heater controller power input
Supply power to the CSAT3H heater controller by connecting the CSAT3HCBL3-L power cable
from the 22 to 32 VDC power supply that is rated 150 W or more to the Power In connection. This
power source will likely need to be in the form of AC mains power converted to a 22 to 32 VDC
output.
CSAT3H heater controller Temp/RH, Chassis Temp, and Heater connections
Connect the temp/RH cable from the temp/RH probe to the CSAT3H heater controller box
Temp/RH connector. Then connect the cable labeled Chassis Temp from the CSAT3BH
anemometer to the connector on the CSAT3H heater controller box labeled Chassis Temp.
Finally, connect the other cable coming out of the sonic anemometer labeled Heaters to the
connector on the controller box labeled Heaters.
6.9 Communications
If the CSAT3BH is going to be operated using SDM or CPI communications where the data logger
triggers the measurement and the data is unfiltered (see Mode 0 in
(p. 65)),
then the CSAT3BH default settings are appropriate and do not require modification. If, however,
the CSAT3BH will be operated in another mode that either requires data filters or uses USB or
RS-485 communications, the settings must be modifying as described in
NOTE:
Unlike previous CSAT3 models, the CSAT3BH does not include 7.6 m (25 ft) lengths of all
cable types. Only the 5 m (16 ft) USB cable for initial configuration of the sensor is included.
Other cables must be ordered separately.
