Actiwatch Guide to Getting Started 7.2 (July 2009)
The Actiwatch reader (blue faced reader pictured below)
provides a telemetric connection to the Actiwatch which allows
the user to setup and download Actiwatches using the software
installed on the host PC.
The diagram above shows the following:

9 pin ‘D’ serial connector for connection to the host PC.
As mentioned, if the host PC does not have a serial port
then a USB – Serial converter will be required. Please see
overleaf. When the reader is correctly
connected to the host PC a green light will be illuminated.
If the reader is plugged into the host PC and the green
light does not come on when the software program is
opened then it is likely that the incorrect communications
port has been selected. For full details please see
