SAFETY:
1. Do not use the Clamp-N-Carry Rack as a step—
it is not designed to bear the weight of an individual.
2. Always make sure the mounting bolts are tight. Inspect before each trip.
3. Never travel without using the hold down strap to hold the chairs securely to the ladder, or
without having bicycle properly strapped. (Straps are not included for use with a bicycle.)
4. Use the rack for transporting chairs or bike only! Do not overload with overweight cargo.
(Weight capacity: 50 lbs. [22.68 kg.] per side; 100 lbs. [45.36 kg.] total)

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Determine whether your ladder is a 7/8" (2.22 cm) or 1" (2.54 cm) diameter unit. If it’s a 7/8" ladder,
snap the wrap-around adapter tubes on your ladder where Rack will be mounted. (Figure 1)
If it’s a 1" ladder, the adapters are not needed.
2. Begin with the right side of the ladder. Open the two halves, being careful not to lose the small
spring on the top bar rod, of the Rack and place around the right vertical ladder tube. Thread two 1/4"
(6.35 mm) hex screws into the front of the Rack body followed by two knobs in the rear (see figure
2). Knobs should always face outward for easy access.
3. Tighten bolts and knobs evenly until all are snug. Do not use a wrench on knobs
(excess tension will cause warping). Do not overtighten.
4. Repeat process for left side. Knobs should face outward. (Figure 3)
5. Starting from the left side, thread hold down strap through one opening on plastic slider, around
ladder’s left vertical member, and back through slider. Continue to thread strap through side of the
second slider, around the ladder’s right vertical, and back through slide. (Figure 4)
6. Attach the male half of the buckle to the free end of the strap as illustrated. (Figure 5)
USE OF THE CAMCO CLAMP-N-CARRY
™
CHAIR AND BIKE RACK
1. Inspect the Rack and ladder before every use, especially before and after longer trips.
2. Open the Rack for loading by depressing the spring-loaded release lever.
3. Load the unit with chairs OR bicycle as in photos on package.
Do not overload
(Weight capacity: 50 lbs. [22.68 kg.] per side; 100 lbs. [45.36 kg.] total)
; if more carrying
capacity is needed, purchase another Rack and mount it lower on the ladder. Chairs should hang
parallel to ladder when properly loaded. Most bicycles can be placed on the Rack with the center
support bar (the bar the seat rests on) across the two sides of the rack. Use additional strapping
(not included) to secure bicycle.
4. Close top bar and insert small lock (optional) through hole near release lever.
5. Loosen/tighten hold down strap as needed to secure chairs or bicycle.
6. To use ladder when the Rack is attached, loosen back tension knobs and rotate both sides outward
for a clear path up the ladder.
7. When not in use, the Rack can also be turned inward for a neater appearance. The hold down strap
can be wrapped once again around the ladder and then connected for storage.
8. If the Clamp-N-Carry Rack is not to be used for a longer period of time (several months),
its life can be extended by covering or removing it and storing the unit.
