Configuring Ethernet Interfaces (CLI)
PTP 820G and PTP 820F's switching fabric distinguishes between physical interfaces and logical interfaces. Physical
and logical interfaces serve different purposes in the switching fabric. In some cases, a physical interface
corresponds to a logical interface on a one-to-one basis. For some features, such as 1+1 protection, a group of
physical interfaces can be joined into a single logical interface.
The basic interface characteristics, such as media type, port speed, duplex, and auto-negotiation, are configured
on the physical interface level. Ethernet services, QoS, VLAN Ethertype, and OAM characteristics are configured on
the logical interface level.

Entering Interface View (CLI)
To view interface details and set the interface’s parameters, you must enter the interface’s view level i
n the CLI.
Use the following command to enter an Ethernet interface’s view level:
root> ethernet interfaces eth slot <slot> port <port>
Use the following command to enter the radio interface’s view level:
root> ethernet interfaces radio slot <slot> port <port>
Use the following command to enter the view level of a group, such as a Multi-Carrier ABC group, an HSB
protection group, or a LAG:
root> ethernet interfaces group <group>
