A text description of the service. This parameter
does not affect the network element’s behavior,
but is used by the NMS for topology management.
To display a service’s EVC description, go to service view for the service and enter the following command:
service[SID]>service description show
For example, the following commands add the EVC ID “East_West” and the EVC description “Line
-to-
Radio” to
Service 10:
service[10]>service evcid set East_West
service[10]>service description set Line-to-Radio
Deleting a Service (CLI)
Before deleting a service, you must first delete any service points attached to the service (refer to
).
Use the following command to delete a service:
root>ethernet service delete sid <sid>
The following command deletes Service 10:
root>ethernet service delete sid 10
