3. Attach the #6 ground to the side of the subscriber’s premise with stainless steel half-moon clamps or tie-wrap the
ground to the riser conduit of the buried fiber drop. When using tie-wraps, wait until the UPS wire run has been
installed and tie-wrap both the #6 ground and the UPS wire run to the riser conduit of the buried fiber drop.
4. Clean the ground wire bonding connector with emery cloth to insure a stable connection.
5. Attach the #6 ground from the ONT to the ground wire bonding connector with the appropriate UL approved ground
clamp/fitting.
6. Coat the connection with a metal corrosion preventative.
7. Attach a Warning Ground Tag to this grounding connection.
3.8 Connecting the Power
The 2364 ONT supports the following options for power:
• +12VDC - input power b10VDC to 14.5VDC. This option uses the standard 7-pin connector common on residential
ONTs and interfaces to a wide-range of UPS' facilitating power, battery backup and alarming.
• AUX PWR - input power b20VDC to +57VDC. This option uses a 2-pin auxiliary connector.

Warning: Take extreme care when attaching the ground connectors to the utility (earth) ground rod. If
the ground is interrupted or disturbed in any way, an unsafe condition will exist. Refer to the National
Electrical Code (NEC) and state/local codes for details on grounding requirements.
