Basic Use
If transmitting MIDI messages from the sequencer software to a MIDI sound module or digital
piano, make the following connections and settings.
* Before making connections to other equipment, you must minimize the volume of all
equipment in order to prevent malfunctions or speaker damage.

MIDI device setting
In your sequencer software, select the MIDI device for the connector to which you connected
your MIDI equipment (e.g., MIDI sound module, digital piano).
* If you want to use the UM-3G with the Media Player included with Windows, refer to p. 20 for
details on settings.
[MIDI THRU] switch setting
MIDI messages from your computer will be sent to the MIDI equipment (MIDI sound module,
digital piano, etc.) connected to the UM-3G’s MIDI OUT/THRU connector.
* Don’t change the setting of the [MIDI THRU] switch while you’re using the UM-3G. Doing so will
cause MIDI errors.
