Each P220G switch provides two logs of switch system activity:

Event Log - stores a large table of events. The size of the table is user-settable.
Because these events are stored in switch memory, the list is cleared each time the
switch reboots.

Shutdown Log - stores the same information as the Event Log, but generally in a
smaller table because the table is stored in the switch’s non-volatile RAM
(NVRAM). This log list is particularly useful in assessing the cause of a switch
failure, because the information is retained even after the switch restarts.
To view the logs, complete the following steps:
1. Select either Event Log (Figure 7-5) or Shutdown Log (Figure 7-6) from the
menu on the left side of the Web Agent.
