2.5. Interference
Gases
Whenever a sample gas contains a gas component that has an absorption spectrum that
overlaps the spectrum of the gas to be measured, that gas is commonly referred to as an
interference gas. The Microflow Detector was specifically designed to minimize the effect of
interference gases. When these gases are present, the pressure rises in the front and rear
chamber of the detector cancel each other minimizing any response to the interference gases.
