VERVIEW
The CAE Air1 ventilator User Interface (UI) consists of screens designed for specific functions. Usage
screens, such as Setup and Operation are strictly for use by trained medical personnel. Settings
screens are intended for technical personnel to perform software updates and to set some basic
ventilator features, when the ventilator is not otherwise in use.
This section provides a detailed overview of the features and screens that will be encountered in the
user interface.
IMPORTANT: Before using the CAE Air1 ventilator, be sure to review all Warnings and Cautions
provided in the Safety section of this user guide.
User Interface Conventions
The user interface is hosted on a touchscreen on the front of the ventilator. The UI utilizes interactive
screens and popups to operate the ventilator and to view the ventilator operating statuses.
The screen styles, symbols and colours employed in the UI are described in the following sections.
Screen Descriptions
The UI screens navigate the operator through a progression of functions. Some functions are
disabled until the necessary preceding steps have been successfully completed.
All UI screens extend fully across the touchscreen display and functions are executable with a single
tap (touch).

Popups, such as decision and confirmation windows, are smaller in size and are displayed as an
opaque overlay to the active screen.
