NTRODUCTION

This user guide is part of a set of supporting documentation for the CAE Air1 ventilator. The set

The CAE Air1 Mechanical Ventilator

The CAE Air1 ventilator is a mechanical ventilation system designed for continuous, invasive
ventilation for adult patients.

The ventilator utilizes gas intake from room air as well as a pressurized oxygen source. Its air-mixing
and pressure output features are managed electronically and controlled by dedicated computer
software. The air-mixing feature allows for control of the oxygen percentage in the air supply. Three
unique modes of operation are supported: Pressure Control, Volume Control and Pressure Support.
