If you are using a weight-distribut-
ing hitch, adjust the spring bars so
that distance
remains the same
before and after coupling the trail-
er to the vehicle and adjusting the
hitch.
NOTICE
If you use a step-bumper hitch,
your bumper could be
damaged in sharp turns. Make
sure you have ample room
when turning to avoid contact
between the trailer and the
bumper.
HITCH COVER (IF EQUIPPED)
Your vehicle may be equipped
with this feature.
To remove the cover, do the
following:
1. Rotate the two fasteners,
located at the bottom of the
cover, counterclockwise 90°.
2. Lift the lower edge of the
cover upward to about a 45°
angle.
3. Then, pull the cover down
and toward you to remove it.
Store the cover in a safe location
for future use.
To reinstall the cover, do the
following:
1. Hold the cover at a 45° angle
to the vehicle to align the tabs
at the top of the cover with
the slots on the rear
fascia.
Push upward to insert the tabs
in the fascia.
2. Push the bottom of the cover
forward to align the tabs at
the bottom of the cover with
slots in the fascia. Press on the
upper corners of the cover to
snap it into place.
3. Rotate the two fasteners,
located at the bottom of the
cover, clockwise 90° to secure
the cover.
