Chlorine. At a salt concentration of 3.5 g/litre or higher, the production of free Chlorine increases while the
production of free radicals falls. As free radicals have no residual effect (spontaneous decay after a very
short lifespan), their disinfectant action is limited to the cell and pipes located downstream. Therefore, free
Chlorine must still be produced to maintain a concentration of between 0.6 ppm and 0.8 ppm in the water.
With the BWT PRO LS Chlorine generator, the dissolved salt concentration is 1.5 grams per litre, however,
higher salt concentration are permitted to favour the production of free Chlorine. The salt concentration
should never rise above 100 g/litre.
2.2
Bwt PRO A & PRO LS chlorine generator - features and options
the BWT PRO A and PRO LS Chlorine generators offer the following functions:
•
Programming of the free Chlorine generation level in g/L.
•
Super chlorination mode.
•
Reduced generation mode for when a cover is deployed over the pool.
See chapter 7.2 , Production modes
•
Safety mechanisms:
•
a. Water temperature too low
•
b. Inadequate water circulation
•
De-scaling of the cell electrodes by periodic, automatic switching of polarity (Every 6 hours, with a 1
minute shut-down between 2 cycles).
•
Counting the cumulated run time.
•
Controlling operation of the filtration pump by programming daily filtration windows. The duration of
the daily run time can be automatically adjusted according to the temperature of the pool (SMART
mode).
See chapter 7.4, Filtration pump slaving mode
•
Powering and controlling underwater lights (12V AC LED or halogen up to 50 W). No need for a
transformer installed upstream, the Chlorine generator control panel takes care of everything.
See chapter 7.5 , Lighting management mode
•
An optional flow-switch can be installed (except for the PRO LS 300 that is equipped with a flow-
switch as standard).
Installation of the flow-switch kit is mandatory if the Chlorine generator
is not mounted in a vertical configuration at the high point of the installation.
The flow-switch
can replace the gas sensor located in the top of the cell, or the two may be combined for more
safety.
To activate operation of the flow-switch, contact your Procopi agency.
•
Possibility to add an optional kit to measure and correct the pH (lower the value).
•
Possibility to add an optional kit to measure the Redox potential to control the generation of Chlorine.
•
Possibility to add a Wi-Fi module to monitor and control the device using a connected app.
See chapter 7.6 , Configuration of the Wi-Fi module
•
Possibility to programme the speeds of a variable speed pump.
See chapter 7.7 , Programming the variable speed pump
