Installation Instructions

Scan QR code on the back of the key locker and
provide required information. If you do not have
access to a smartphone, locate and record the
key locker serial number:
2. Ensure min. wiring specs are met
• Power: AC-to-12VDC transformer brick with
installer-supplied UPS
• Installer should not modify supplied transformer
• Internet: CAT5e/6 < 300’ to router/switch
3. Mount Key Locker Backplate to wall with supplied
screws
4. Connect power and ethernet cables to pigtail
connectors on Key Locker
5. Mount Key Locker to Backplate
6. Fasten Key Locker to Backplate with provided
security screws and screwdriver
7. Call ButterflyMX Support to activate Key Locker

Installation kit:
• Installation hardware (9x M4 screws, 9x wall
anchors)
• 2x security screws
• 1x security screwdriver
• 1x power cable: NEMA 5-15 (typical 3-prong
male) IEC320-C13 (to power supply)
• 1x power supply: AC to DC transformer; input:
100-240V AC (mains), output: 36W 12V locking
barrel connector
ButterflyMX does not provide:
• Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS)
• CAT5e/6
• Alternate length transformer-to-wall cord
