DHCP
Setting
DHCP
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol,
located in dialogue
Basic settings
under
Network
) is used
to define whether the network configuration is to be fixed
automatically. If this is the case, the Comfort Panel obtains
the necessary addresses for its network communication
from a DHCP server by itself.
There are three different setting options for
DHCP
:
No DHCP
:
For this setting the
IP address
, the
Subnet
mask
, the
Internet gateway
and the
DNS
addresses
must be entered manually (see
below).
obtain IP addresses automatically
:
DHCP switched off (e.g. if the network has a
router with DHCP function).
Obtain IP and DNS server addresses automati-
cally
(recommended setting):
The IP configuration and DNS settings are ob-
tained automatically with this setting. This set-
ting is recommended since the DM server is
generally dependent on the Internet provider.
If it is changed, no changes to the settings on
the Comfort Panel are necessary.
19.6.1.1
Settings for
No DHCP
:
IP address
:
This parameter is used to assign a fixed IP
address (physical network address). Certain
rules are to be observed here. For private
networks the address range from 192.168.0.0.
to 192.168.255.255 are used as a rule.
Subnet mask
:
This parameter is used to set the subnet
mask. With the subnet mask the data traffic
within a network is restricted, thereby preven-
ting the network from being overloaded. The
subnet mask to be set is dependent on the
network class:
o
Class A - 255.0.0.0
o
Class B - 255.255.0.0
