Battery care
The supplied high quality
Panasonic rechargeable NiMH
batteries allow the T400 to function
when there is mains power failure.
Charging of the batteries is fully automatic
and engineered to achieve a long service life.
The batteries are supplied nearly fully charged.
If the terminal is not going to be used for several months,
either remove the batteries or replace the insulating tab.
Performing a ring back test
The ring back test helps to confirm: the link with the connected phone, the current ring
cadence and terminal status (for phones that support
Caller Identity
, also known as
CLI
).
1 Lift the handset and dial
*9#
2 Replace the handset. Your phone should ring until the handset is lifted (or for 30
seconds). If your phone has a caller identity display, the status of the T400 terminal will
be shown.
Making and receiving calls
•
To make a call
: Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone*. Dial the required number and
then press
#
to place the call immediately. If you do not dial
#
, the call will be placed
after three seconds after the last button is pressed. You can adjust the delay period.
* If you hear a series of short tones, the terminal is waiting for you to enter a PIN code.
•
To receive a call
: When the phone rings, lift the handset and take the call in the normal
way. Hang up to terminate the call.
