7 Service and repair
This chapter contains information on troubleshooting and correction should an error occur during operation.
Repairs to the unit must be performed by Bühler authorised personnel.

If the equipment is not functioning properly after correcting any malfunctions and switching on the power, it must be inspected
by the manufacturer. Please send the equipment inside suitable packaging to:

7.1 Troubleshooting
Problem / Malfunction

No display
– Mains voltage interrupted
– Connect to mains; check the plug is cor-
rectly inserted
– Fuse defective
– Check fuse and replace, if necessary
The cooler temperature display is off
– Defect in cooler or electronics
– Call for service
Cooler is not running
– Cooler defect
– Call for service
No flow in the sample conditioning path – Clogged filter
– Replace filter element
– Gas inlets or outlets plugged; Down-
stream or upstream pressure too
high/low
– Check tubes, hoses, fittings
The moisture detector is switching al-
though the cooler is within the proper
operating temperature range
– Water slip through
– Entrained water is entering the instru-
ment with the sample gas. Use a separ-
ator upstream of the SCS
– Condensate pump hose defective
– Replace hose
Insufficient or no flow of calibration gas
– No gas at the inlet fittings
– Provide calibration gas
– Calibration gas pressure too low
– Check/adjust calibration gas pressure
– Valve at flow meter closed
– Open/adjust valve
Too much flow of calibration gas
– Inlet pressure too high
– Check/adjust calibration gas pressure
Insufficient or no blowback
– No air at the inlet fitting
– Provide air
– Pressure low
– Check/adjust pressure regulator
– Pressure regulator closed
– Open/adjust pressure regulator
