1 Introduction

This quick guide will assist you in starting up the unit. Follow
the safety notices or injury to health or property damage may
occur. Carefully read the original operating instructions in-
cluding information on maintenance and troubleshooting
prior to startup. These are located on the included CD and on-

1.1 Intended Use

This unit is intended for industrial use in gas analysis systems.
It's an essential component for conditioning the sample gas to
protect the analysis instrument from residual moisture in the
sample gas.

This device is intended for use in areas with explosive atmo-
spheres category 3G, explosion group IIC, temperature class
T4.

Please note the specifications in the data sheet on the specific
intended use, existing material combinations, as well as pres-
sure and temperature limits.

The unit bears the following explosion protection markings:

1.1.1 Please note for this device:

The equipment must be installed in a housing which at a min-
imum meets EPL Gc.

number given on the type plate informs you about the spe-
cific configuration of your device.

2 Safety instructions

NOTICE

When used in explosive areas

Regulation IEC/EN 60079-14 must be observed when erecting
electrical systems in explosive areas.

Additional national regulations pertaining to initial opera-
tion, operation, maintenance, repairs and disposal must be
observed.

This unit may only be used if:

• The product is being used under the conditions described

in the operating- and installation instructions, used ac-
cording to the nameplate and for applications for which it
is intended. Any unauthorized modifications to the unit
will void the warranty provided by Bühler Technologies
GmbH,

• The specifications and markings in the type plate must be

observed,

• The threshold values in the data sheet and the instruc-

tions must be observed,

• Monitoring equipment / protection devices must be con-

nected correctly,

• Service and repair work not described in these instruc-

tions are performed by Bühler Technologies GmbH,

• Genuine replacement parts must be used.

Erecting electrical systems in explosive areas requires compli-
ance with the regulation IEC/EN 60079-14.

Additional national regulations pertaining to initial opera-
tion, operation, maintenance, repairs and disposal must be
