P/N 102SR Series Self-Rescue Kit
Instructions / Warnings
Read carefully, understand, and heed these instructions, warnings, and cautions before using this equipment. Failure to
do so could result in serious injury or death.
Buckingham’s P/N 102SR Series Self
- Rescue Kit has been designed to provide a means for a worker to rescue himself
in the event of a fall from an aerial bucket. The kit and any of its components must not be used for any other purpose.
The P/N 102SR Series Self-Rescue Kit contains the following components:
•
One 14 step web ladder (15 ft.) with a carabiner or optional locking snap hook (model 102SRS)
attached to upper
section for attachment to an anchor point.
•
One tag line (1” black herringbone webbing) terminating with a key chain carabiner.
•
Storage bag
USE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF RESCUE
•
Attach the Self Rescue Unit to the boom using the straps with quick connect buckles and locate it adjacent to the fall
arrest attachment anchor point.
•
Connect the carabiner or locking snap hook to the anchor point.
•
Fasten the key chain carabiner attached to the 1” black web tag line of the Self Rescue Unit to the harness.
(Note: The tag lines only purpose is to deploy the Self Rescue Device in the event of a fall out of the bucket,
therefore enabling the individual to climb back to the bucket.)
INSPECTION AND REPACKING
Inspection:
Prior to each use, carefully inspect each component. The inspection should include, but not be limited to the following:
Webbing
•
Inspect for cuts, kinks, abrasions, burns, broken fibers, chemical or physical exposures, excessive wear or
discoloration.
•
Inspect stitched eye for excessive wear, abrasions, or broken fibers where the webbing attaches to the snap
hook eye / carabiner.
•
Inspect for broken, missing or unraveling thread.
Snap Hook / Carabiner
•
Ensure locking device and keeper / gate operate freely and smoothly.
•
Inspect for cracks, distortion, corrosion or nicks.
If any evidence of wear or deterioration as outlined is observed, immediately cease use, destroy the product, and replace it
with new equipment. Should any unusual conditions not outlined above be observed, or you have reasonable doubt about
a particular condition, remove the equipment from service and notify your Supervisor, Safety Director or contact
Buckingham Mfg. for clarification.
Failure to carefully and completely inspect your equipment could result in serious injury or death.
Repacking:
•
Lay storage bag out flat
•
Lay the web ladder on the storage bag and lay out flat. Fold ladder over itself and at a length to properly fit
into the storage bag. Continue to fold the ladder over itself until it is completely in the storage bag. Ensure the
tag line attached to the unit extends out the end of the bag.
•
Close the storage bag by attaching the black hook and loop closure.
