If necessary, replace the seal. See Chapter 10.21 "Replacing the sample tube
seal", page 90

Cleaning and servicing the splash protector
u
Check for leaks on the connectors.
u
Check for residues inside the splash protector.
u
Check the glass wall of the main body and the connectors.
ð
If the part is dirty, clean it with detergents.
ð
If the glass part is showing deterioration (transparency loss/reams in the glass
wall) or leakages (white residues), replace it.

Cleaning and servicing the steam inlet and condenser outlet tube
u
Check the tubes concerning dirt or residues.
u
Clean and replace periodically depending on the use.

Cleaning the housing
u
Wipe down the housing with a damp cloth.
u
If heavily soiled, use ethanol or a mild detergent.
u
Wipe down the display with a damp cloth.

Cleaning and servicing the warning and directive symbols
u
Check that the warning symbols on the instrument are legible.
u
If they are dirty, clean them.
10.10 Cleaning and servicing the bridge splash protector to condenser
u
Check if it is tight.
u
Check for residues inside the tube.
u
If necessary, clean it with a brush and water.
10.11 Cleaning and servicing the dosing pumps
u
Check the pump connectors in the dosing pump window for:
Leakages
Crystallization
u
If necessary, contact BUCHI customer service.
10.12 Cleaning and servicing the condenser
Decalcification solution:
160 g citric acid or 80 g amidosulfuric acid dissolved in 0.8 L water.
u
Check if the cooling media of the condenser is transparent.
