The SMART display is blank
System powered off
Check that the I/O connector is correctly plugged
in and that there is a 24 Vdc power voltage on pins
1-2.
Check the protection fuses
ERROR RAM
message at
startup
The self-diagnostics detected an error in
the SMART system memory
Press the
button. The system will erase the
user settings and will load the default values.
Reload the parameters and custom settings. If the
problem persists, contact your
BTSR
reseller.
The replacement of the system’s lithium battery
may be required
The SMART system does not
accept keyboard inputs. Keyboard
not responding.
System halted, probably due to a sudden
over-voltage load.
(e.g. lightning)
Power off and on the system. If the problem
persists, contact your
BTSR
reseller.
The display shows the
ERR COM DXXX
screen
Faulty XXX Sensor or incorrectly
numbered.
Assign again a number to the sensor XXX. If the
problem persists, replace the sensor.
If the problem persists, check the connection cable
of the sensor; replace it if necessary.
If the problem persists, assign again a number to
all the sensors.
The sensors numbering procedure
fails (the number YYY does not
increase in the screen
DEV *Y*
XXX YYY
)
Problems on the communications line
Check that the sensors are correctly connected.
Check for locked sensors
(green and red LED
simultaneously ON).
Power off and on the system.
If the problem persists, replace the sensor.
If the problem persists, connect a set of sensors at
a time trying to isolate the problem.
The sensor does not provide the
Stop signal
Failure in the Stop circuit
Check the Stop circuit connections.
Check the configuration of Stop signal (ST-NCO).
If the problem persist, replace the sensor.
The sensor cannot be reset
“Touch Light” defective
Verify that the sensor is not currently de-activated
(LK-ULK function)
If necessary, replace the sensor
The display shows the
ERR_REF
DEV XX
screen
The XX sensor configured in REL mode
calculated for 10 consecutive times a
negative TITLE.
This could be caused bv the fact that
the yarn is not running in the correct
position thus overrunning the reference
area, or by an uneven accumulation of
dirtiness.
Correct the yarn running position.
Clean the dirtiness accumulation
The display shows the
ERR_OUT
DEV XX
screen
Stop output transistor STOP shortened.
Check the STOP circuit. If the problem, persists,
replace the sensor.
ERROR VERSION displayed during
a manual sensor calibration
attempt.
One or more sensors have a software
revision lower than 3.0.
Update the sensor software to Ver. 3.0 or more
recent. If necessary contact you BTSR distributor.
If the fault is not included in the above table, please contact your local BTSR reseller, giving a
detailed description of the kind of fault and the conditions in which it occurred. In the case where the
BTSR Technical Service intervention would be required, before calling it is suggested to take note of
the code printed on the faulty sensor(s) and/or on the SMART CLEARER terminal, as this information
will make diagnoses for the BTSR technicians easier. Example:
Sensor Code:
ISSC..- AV7S2 S 1101004817
Terminal Code:
SMART CLEARER V1 0200 000174
