Quick Installation Guide
Hardware setting
1. Turn off the power of PC and unplug the AC
power cord.
2. Remove
the
cover of PC
.
3. Connect the 40-pin IDE cable from one of the
IDE ports on the mainboard to the 40-pin
connector of the drive. Also, connect the
power supply cable to the drive.
4. Re-attach the cover of PC.
5. Plug in the AC power cord.
6.
Reboot the PC.
Installation under
Windows Environment
For operating systems like Windows 95/98/ME and
Windows NT/2000/XP, it is not necessary to install
driver because the systems can automatically detect
the drive and load the appropriate device driver.
Warning:
The default reading speed is 40X. Pressing
Eject
button for 3 seconds
will change the speed to 52X. While at 52X mode, pressing
Eject
button for 3 seconds or ejecting the tray will reset the drive speed from
52X to 40X.
Using discs with cracks, scratches or of poor quality may cause
damage to the drive and the data in the discs. Such discs may break
during high-speed rotation. If there is any damage of the drive caused
by improper operation or condition mentioned above, you might void
the warranty of the drive.
Be sure to use the screws packed in the accessory bag because
different kind of screws might cause mechanism malfunction.
