SOLARIS 25
IMPORTANT: Please read the following instructions before operating the Solaris 25.
Important Notes:
1. Always connect the power cable into the Solaris 25 first and then the electronic device being powered last,
otherwise it may cause a short circuit.
2. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.
Instructions:
Step One: Position Solaris 25
Place the Solaris 25 so all three panels receive the maximum light available. For best performance, tilt the
panels toward the light source.
Step Two: Connect device
Connect the appropriate power cable (universal power cord or female socket adapter) into either of the
connectors on the Solaris 25. Connect the cable to the electronic device.
Boosting Power Output:
It is possible to increase charging power by plugging more than one Solaris 25 together. Simply plug the
universal power cord into either connector on the first solar array and plug the 2.5mm barrel plug into the next
solar array. Repeat the procedure for additional units. Once all of the Solaris 25 units are plugged in, connect
the last power cable to the electronic device.
FAQ
Q: Can the Solaris 25 drain my battery at night?
A: No. The Solaris 25 has a built-in diode for reverse current protection.
Q: Can my Solaris 25 be left outdoors without a protective covering?
A: Yes. However, the Solaris 25 should be taken indoors in anticipation of rain, snow, etc. even though it has
been weatherproofed.
Q: Can I charge more than one battery at a time with the Solaris 25?
A: Yes. The charge can be applied to a bank of “AA” batteries. When attached to a bank of 2 or more batteries,
the total power input will be divided into that number of batteries. The higher the number of batteries, the
longer it will take to recharge the battery pack.
Q: How can I use the Solaris 25 with my laptop computer?
A: Do not plug the Solaris 25 directly to your laptop using the universal power cable. Instead, contact your
laptop manufacturer to get a male socket adapter cable. You will experience best results charging your laptop
batteries with the Solaris 25 when the laptop power is off. If you plan to run your laptop on solar power only,
we recommend using two or more Solaris 25 units plugged together.
